BAER HSSG Hand Tap Intermediate (No. 2) non serial form M 2.5 x 0.45

The hand tap intermediate tap (No. 2) in conical design enables you to cut a thread prepared by taper tap (No. 1) a little deeper. The advantage of the intermediate tap (No. 2) is that the cutting forces on the following finishing tap (No. 3) are reduced. The screw tap in form D has a gate length of 3.5 - 5 threads. In contrast to normal intermediate taps, intermediate tap (No. 2) in conical design can cut a complete thread profile up to the gate area. Due to the long gate, the screw tap is more suitable for through holes, but can produce a deeper usable thread than the taper tap (No. 1) with 6 - 8 turns of gate. The screw tap also does not have a centre tap marking with two rings, as is the case with conventional centre taps. In combination with a pilot and finishing tap (No. 3) it is easier to cut a straight and clean thread by hand.
Compared to the machine tap, the hand tap has a short shank. This allows you to cut internal thread by hand without jamming and can be operated with tap wrenches, tool ratchets or other holding tools with square drive.
The thread can be cut in a pre-drilled core hole.
