The BAER extension sleeve according to DIN 2187 has the task of enabling the use of tools with an MT3 Morse taper on a machine with an MT2 holder. For example, drills with a larger Morse taper than is available in the machine can be accommodated with the help of this intermediate sleeve or an adapter. They are made of hardened and ground steel and have a total length of 180 mm. The sleeves have a Morse taper shank outside and inside and can bridge a high quill distance. The sleeves can be easily removed from the machine using the flat tang (ejector tang).
