The good ring gauges are made of high-quality special gauge steel and therefore enable reliable thread testing. The BAER good ring gauge checks the so-called mating dimension as well as the screw-on capability and is therefore particularly durable. The thread limit ring gauge, also called gauge nut, checks the flank and core diameter of external threads.
