Our BAER HSSE Extreme drills are ground from solid material and made of high-quality HSSE/Co steel with a 5% cobalt content. The cylindrical shank is reduced to a diameter of 13 mm, allowing larger-diameter drills to be used in standard drill chucks, such as those found on cordless drills or pillar drills.
With a point angle of 135° and the special X-TRA cross grind, these drills are self-centering, run extremely smoothly and enable precise spot drilling without wandering. They are right-hand cutting, highly stable and retain their hardness up to approx. 600–650 °C. This ensures precise, burr-free holes with a long service life.
Thanks to their geometry and optimized chip evacuation, this type of metal drill is ideally suited for drilling iron, steel and bronze up to 1300 N/mm², as well as high-strength CrNi alloys and corrosion-, acid- and heat-resistant steels. Wood or aluminium can also be machined without any issues. Their efficiency combined with low production costs makes these drills particularly popular in industrial series production.
