BAER HSSE Machine Nut Tap M 20 x 2.5
BAER HSSE Machine Nut Tap M 20 x 2.5
The nut taps are used to produce nuts with metric ISO standard threads according to DIN 13-1. Approximately 2/3 of the thread length of the tap is used as chamfer.
The long tap chamfer ensures a good chip distribution and increases the tool life time enormously. In addition, it gives the surface of the cut thread a very high quality and thus ensures a secure hold and even distribution of forces in the screw connection. This is what the proven BAER quality stands for.
Machine nut taps are suitable for short through holes up to a maximum of 1.5 x thread- nominal diameter. They are standardised according to DIN 357 and can take several nuts due to their long overflow shank. The maximum thread length of 1.5 x Diameter should not be exceeded, otherwise the screw tap may break. The long screw tap can alternatively be used for hard to reach and deep seated threading operations.
The precision of the BAER nut taps and the relief ground thread ensures that there is less friction and temperature at the thread cutting. To prevent the thread profile from completely rubbing against the workpiece, the thread is already relief-ground in the chamfer and over the entire thread. This means that the tap has to apply less force and chip jamming can be avoided.
Our machine nut taps are powerful and reliable taps for efficient machining of nuts in one step with the machine. Nut taps are used especially in industrial manufacturing. As they are characterised by high efficiency and low production costs, they are often used in series production. The thread is cut by machine in one operation.
The high quality of the cobalt-alloyed HSSE steel we use ensures that our tools are extremely durable and robust. Due to special hardening processes and repeated tempering the hardness structure is very homogeneous, which forms the ideal basis for a genuine BAER screw taps. This increases the toughness and stability of the screw taps, allowing them to remain in use for longer.

Cutting speed vc [m/min] = (Outer diameter * π * speed) / 1000
Rotation speed n [1/min] = (Cutting speed in m/min * 1000) / (Outer diameter * π)
Feedrate programming [mm/min] = speed * pitch
Please note that the above cutting speeds are indicative and must be adjusted depending on lubrication and actuation.
