Lubricants
The right lubricant is of central importance in the production and machining of threads. Correct use of cutting paste or cutting oil not only extends the service life of your tools, but also improves the surface quality of the workpiece for a clean metal finish. You will find high-quality lubricants for thread cutting and other machining processes in the BAER online shop.
Everything you need to know about lubricants
Coolants and lubricants perform several tasks during thread cutting as well as during other processes such as drilling or milling. They counteract the heat generated by friction and provide a lubricating effect during use, making it easier for the tool to penetrate the material. In industrial production in particular, coolants also help to remove chips.
Taken together, these effects contribute to smooth workflows and perfect results while reducing wear. Whether cutting paste or oil is more suitable depends on the application and the material being machined.
Application depends on the consistency of the products. Thick paste can be easily applied to the tool and the workpiece with a finger or a brush. This product is particularly easy to use, making it the first choice for DIY users. However, cutting paste also meets all requirements in professional applications.
Low-viscosity oil can be sprayed onto parts – for example using a spray bottle – or applied with a brush. Depending on the working environment and application, complete immersion of a part in oil is also possible. It is particularly suitable for demanding cutting operations.
Lubricants – Our range
In the BAER online shop, lubricants are available in two categories: paste or oil.
Cutting paste
Our light green cutting paste based on a water-soap formulation is suitable for numerous materials, including iron, steel, chromium-nickel alloys, aluminum, titanium, manganese and cast steel. It is completely free of petroleum, chlorine and sulfur and therefore does not create an oil film, leaving a clean working environment.
BAER thread cutting paste is particularly beginner-friendly, as it can be used directly from the bottle without any prior mixing. The practical cap allows easy, drip-free dosing.
The BAER high-performance cutting paste is available in two sizes. The small 100 ml bottle is ideal if you are new to thread cutting or have only limited requirements. It fits comfortably in the hand and can be used easily with one hand.
If you frequently use paste for thread cutting, take a look at our large 500 ml bottle. This ensures you always have enough cutting paste on hand whenever you need it.
High-performance oil
Our BAER cutting oil in the 1000 ml bottle is ideal not only for thread production, but also for all machining processes such as drilling, milling or turning. It is produced on an ester oil basis, which contributes to very low mist formation.
The cutting oil is particularly suitable for tough, high-alloy steels and hard-to-machine materials, but can also be used without any problems for a wide range of materials. These include aluminum, non-ferrous metals and plastics. It is therefore a versatile, next-generation coolant and lubricant that will serve you well in all cutting applications.
