Everything You Need to Know About BaerFix Thread Inserts
BaerFix thread inserts feature a cutting slot or cutting holes and can therefore create their own receiving thread. They are made of case-hardened steel, stainless steel or brass and offer an almost tolerance-free fit and, compared with normal screws, a larger contact area for the receiving material. This surface area in turn ensures higher pull-out strength compared with direct screwing.
The tolerance-free fit is created by the self-cutting process: the thread insert cuts the material itself as it is screwed into the hole and is thus firmly pressed into the material. The thread created in this way can then be screwed together with a screw. The connection between the screw and the thread insert is much stronger because the material from which the insert is made has high shear strength.
With BAER thread inserts, you save on material, installation space and weight—while maintaining the same or even higher load capacity. Thanks to thread reinforcement, you need less space for your screw connections and can use smaller screw dimensions. This allows you to significantly reduce your overall costs.

Our BaerFix thread inserts with a cutting slot are the standard version and are well suited for most normal applications. In this category you will find inserts for M, UNC and UNF threads in many common sizes such as M 8 x 1.25 or M 12 x 1.75.
Thread inserts with cutting holes for easy to difficult-to-machine materials
For particularly difficult-to-machine materials, you can use our BaerFix thread inserts with cutting holes. Thanks to a more stable design and a thicker wall, these are also suitable for high loads.
Thread inserts for repairing and reinforcing spark plug threads
Specifically for spark plug threads, we also offer a special variant of our thread inserts with cutting holes. Inserts of this type are available in pack units of 5 pieces in sizes from M 10 to M 14 in our shop.
