Why have we at BAER specialized in taps?
As a manufacturer of threading tools, we are often confronted with the view that taps are one of the more boring tools. That really hurts us! Not only because we personally think taps are really great and are therefore perhaps a little biased. No, it's also simply not true. Honestly. Objectively speaking, taps are totally exciting tools with an almost incomprehensible wealth of challenging tasks all over the world. Otherwise we at BAER would not have specialized in taps. And that's not just a gut feeling, we have arguments that are sure to convince you. Let's get started.
You simply need taps everywhere
Threads are so ubiquitous that you probably don't even realize HOW ubiquitous. Even the start of the day would be unthinkable without threads. From the screws that hold your bed together to the lid of the toothpaste tube to the adjustment screw on the weight bench (or the lid of the Nutella jar - it depends on how you like to start the day). Nothing works without threads and therefore without taps and ultimately without us as a manufacturer of threading tools. So you could say that we have specialized in taps because we like to feel really important.
Taps are truly crisis-proof
Over the last 100 years, many trades have become obsolete, especially in the craft sector, making many special tools superfluous. Threads, on the other hand, have only become more numerous and diverse - and the number of taps required has increased as a result. And at the moment, it does not look as if this trend will reverse in the foreseeable future. At least until mankind comes up with a more practical alternative to screw connections, threads are absolutely crisis-proof. We have specialized in taps because we don't have to be afraid of technical progress.
Taps are more exciting than you might think
And now a counter question: Why not specialize in taps? After all, taps are really exciting tools. The sheer variety of different dimensions, shapes and materials that pass through our workshops day in, day out is breathtaking. Tiny threads in nanotechnology, huge threads in the construction industry, threads with very special requirements in the medical sector. Threads that can be used universally and threads that serve a single special purpose in this world - the range could be overwhelming. And in addition to our wide range of products, we are also constantly working on custom-made products for our customers and solving individual problems. We have specialized in taps because no two days are the same in our varied working day.
Taps bring us into contact with many great people
This point is closely linked to the last. After all, the sectors and problems we deal with on a daily basis are as diverse as the people. It makes no difference to us whether you are a major industrial customer or a DIY enthusiast. Of course, we enjoy designing taps for commercial customers, which in turn enable the production of very specific components. But at least as exciting is the hobbyist who repairs historic telephones in his spare time and is looking for the holy grail among the taps to be able to recut an ancient thread. And then, of course, there are the medical technicians who cut threads in bones or aircraft mechanics whose threads are responsible for the safety of human lives. So many stories, so many threads and so many people who stand behind them and rely on our tools. We have specialized in taps because we meet interesting characters every day.
