Everything you need to know about HSSE Extreme drills made of HSSE/Co steel to DIN 338
Our BAER HSSE Extreme drills are made from high-quality, highly alloyed HSSE cobalt steel with a 5% cobalt content. They are right-hand cutting, feature a point angle of 118°, and stand out for maximum precision and excellent cutting performance.
HSSE allows cutting speeds up to four times higher than conventional tool steel and offers greater hardness than HSSG. Thanks to the cobalt content, the drills are heat-resistant up to approx. 650 °C, extremely wear-resistant and provide high cutting edge stability. This enables precise, burr-free drilling with a long service life.
Thanks to their stable geometry and optimized chip evacuation, they are universally applicable – from iron, steel and bronze up to 1300 N/mm², to high-strength CrNi alloys and corrosion-, acid- and heat-resistant steels. Even wood or aluminium can be machined effortlessly. Their high efficiency combined with low production costs makes these drills particularly popular in industrial manufacturing.
