The three clamping jaws of the chuck are hardened to enable a high clamping force and long service life. Insert tools can thus be clamped in a centred manner to which high clamping forces can be transmitted. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the drill bit can be clamped firmly and securely by itself, with little effort, and can also be changed again quickly. Anti-lock function for a secure hold
When closing the drill chuck, a clear "click" sound of the anti-lock function can be heard. This clamping force lock prevents the twist drill from loosening and spinning.
The chuck has a through-hole for tightening the chuck with a counter screw. This also allows counterclockwise rotation without the drill chuck loosening from the mounting thread.

Precise threaded mounting for a strong connection
With the BAER drill chuck you have definitely made the right choice!
Now you only have to check the mounting thread so that the quick-change drill chuck fits on the machine. You can determine this by measuring the outer diameter of the threaded bolt on your machine.
This drill chuck has a 1/2" mounting thread. It is a UNF 1/2 x 20 thread with an outer diameter of approx. 12.7 mm.
The threaded connection between the chuck and the drill allows the chuck to be firmly attached to your machine and high driving forces to be transmitted to the chuck. The UNF 1/2" thread is the most common connection between hand drill and drill chuck. Some drills have the slightly smaller UNF 3/8" thread. In our shop you will find a thread reduction and 1/2" to 3/8" or you can buy a drill chuck with reduction.

The drill chuck is not suitable for impact drilling! It is used so that an SDS-Plus drill can also clamp normal twist drill bit with a cylindrical shaft through the drill chuck in order to drill in metal, wood or similar. For impact drilling we recommend using SDS-Plus drill bits that are designed for this purpose.
Please note that the adapters are plug-in connections. They have high tolerances that affect the runout accuracy. For precise work, we recommend using the drill chuck on a drill with a threaded connection.
