The BAER reducing sleeve according to DIN 2185 has the task of enabling the use of tools with an MK0 Morse taper on a machine with an MT1 holder. For example, drills with a larger Morse taper than is available in the machine can be accommodated with the help of this intermediate sleeve or an adapter. They are made of hardened and ground steel and have an overall length of 80 mm. The sleeves have a Morse taper shank on the outside and can be easily detached from the machine again by using the flat tang (ejector tang).
