BaerCoil Thread Repair Kits
At BAER, it is important to us that you can rely on your threads in the long term. That is why we do everything we can to make thread reinforcement and repair as easy as possible for you – regardless of how much experience you have or how well equipped your workshop is. With a BaerCoil thread repair kit, repairing damaged threads becomes child’s play. All the tools you need – perfectly matched, from a single source and in proven BAER quality.
Everything You Need to Know About BaerCoil Thread Repair Kits
Do you regularly work with threads in your workshop? In that case, a thread repair kit is a sensible investment – because threads can be damaged for many reasons. A screw can quickly break off or seize, be overtightened or improperly removed, damaging or deforming the thread. Over time, normal wear and tear can also occur, making the thread unusable.
Whatever the cause of a defective thread, instead of replacing the component you should first consider thread repair. With BaerCoil thread repair kits, this is easy even for non-professionals. And more than that: with our BaerCoil wire thread inserts, you do not just repair threads, you also reinforce them. This allows you to extend the service life of your threads as a preventive measure, so that damage does not occur in the first place. This pays off particularly quickly with materials with low shear strength such as aluminium. In this way, you not only conserve resources and contribute to sustainability, but above all save money.
A BaerCoil thread repair kit contains all the assembly tools required for thread repair, so you can get started immediately.
- You start with the twist drill, which is used to drill out the damaged thread. If necessary, the core hole can then be countersunk with a countersink.
- Next, use the special tap from your thread repair kit to cut the thread into the prepared hole. This works best if you use a little lubricant.
- You can then install the thread insert. This can be done either manually or by machine. When purchasing your thread repair kit, pay attention to which installation tool is included in the case. Thread repair kits with machine installation tools can be identified by the designation “Pro” in the product title.
- With both methods, the final step is breaking off the tang. For this purpose, your thread repair kit includes a suitable tang break tool.
BaerCoil Thread Repair Kits – Our Range
As standard, a thread repair kit contains:
- a core hole drill
- a tap
- the installation tool
- a tang break tool
You will also receive a stock of repair thread inserts, which you can of course reorder at any time if required.
We have carefully assembled our BaerCoil thread repair kits for a wide range of applications. Basically, the thread repair kits are divided according to thread standards. In addition to metric coarse and fine threads, you will find numerous international standards such as British coarse and fine threads or Unified National threads. All common thread sizes such as M 3, M 8 or M 12 are represented.
If you are looking for thread repair kits for spark plug and oil drain threads, you should take a look at the “Automotive Special” subcategory. For special cases such as working on a Harley Davidson, we offer special thread repair kits in the “Special Sizes” category.
The most common thread in Europe is the metric ISO thread, which is why this category includes various versions of our thread repair kits. Under the designation “Pro” you will find thread repair kits with machine installation tools designed for use in machines or with cordless screwdrivers. “Mix” repair kits include thread inserts in different lengths. Our thread repair kits for blind holes also include countersinks in addition to the assembly tools described above.
