BaerCoil HSSG Tap with pilot nose M 10 x 1.5 STI (oversized for wire thread inserts)
BaerCoil HSSG Tap with pilot nose M 10 x 1.5 STI (oversized for wire thread inserts)
BaerCoil® Combi screw tap are mainly used for thread repair in connection with wire thread inserts. With this BaerCoil® tap, the old thread can be cut in one operation, without pre-drilling, into an oversize thread as a receiving thread for wire thread inserts of the dimension M 10 x 1.5. Only through holes up to a maximum thread depth of 2 x D can be produced with this.
The holding thread for M 10 x 1.5 thread inserts is also called STI thread (screw thread insert) or STI thread (Screw Thread Insert) and has an oversize so that the normal initial thread M 10 x 1.5 is restored after installation of the thread insert.
internal thread can be cut without canting and operated with tap wrenches, ratchets or other holding tools with square drive.
The screw tap is used in pre-cut threads to expand them into holding threads for wire thread inserts. Pre-machining with a core drill bit is not necessary.
This internal tap offers a clear advantage over short machine taps or machine taps, as the work step of core drilling and tool changing is eliminated. The high time saving also significantly increases the efficiency at thread cutting.
With the straight flutes, the chip is mainly absorbed by the chip flutes and is not removed during cutting. To prevent the chips from sticking, it is recommended to remove the chips from the flutes with a brush, compressed air or similar after each thread cutting.
