BaerFix
BaerFix refers to self-tapping thread inserts from BAER. These innovative inserts make it possible to repair a damaged or worn thread, or to create a new, high-strength thread in a workpiece without the need for a separate pre-tapping of the internal thread. The inserts cut their own receiving thread directly into the workpiece material.
Special features:
- No separate pre-tapping required: This results in significant time and effort savings and reduces the number of tools needed.
- Simple and fast installation: Ideal for repair cases where a quick and straightforward solution is required.
- High thread strength: The self-tapping principle and insert material create a secure and permanent connection.
- Versatile application: Suitable for various materials such as metals, plastics and wood, especially in thin-walled components where conventional thread repairs can be difficult.
Practical example:
If a thread in an aluminium housing is damaged, a BaerFix insert can be installed directly with a standard installation tool. The insert cuts itself into the existing hole and forms a new, strong thread without the prior use of a tap.
