Feed rate in manufacturing refers to the movement of a tool or workpiece in the cutting direction. It indicates how far the tool advances into the material per revolution or per unit of time.
Fine threads are threads with a smaller pitch for the same diameter – i.e. the thread turns are closer together than in coarse threads.
The flank angle is the angle between the flanks of a thread – i.e. between the sides of the thread turns; it defines the shape of the thread profile.
