Cutting Fluid
A cutting fluid (also: coolant lubricant) is a liquid or emulsion used during cutting or thread cutting for cooling and lubrication.
Functions:
- Cooling of the cutting zone.
- Lubrication to reduce friction.
- Supporting chip evacuation.
Practical example:
When repairing a deep internal thread, cutting fluid is used to cool the tap and make it easier to flush out chips.
