Drill Chuck
A drill chuck is the holder on a drilling or threading tool used to clamp a tool (e.g. twist drill, tap or adapter) in the machine.
Important because:
- It must sit precisely and securely so that the tool does not wobble or become misaligned.
- Different types: keyless chuck or collet chuck, depending on machine type or application.
Practical example:
Hand drills often use keyless chucks for quick tool changes. For CNC machines or high-precision work, collet chucks with high concentricity are used.
